Action Project Grants
The purpose of the HIA-ASFA grant funding project is to help fund the Action Plan funding requests of HIA Fellows and the Independent Senior Project funding requests of Senior Fellows. These projects aim to further the awareness of human rights issues in the communities of HIA Fellows and Senior Fellows, and in so doing, seek to continue the examination of minority rights that is foundational to the mission of Humanity in Action. Grants range in size. To obtain a grant, applicants should submit a brief grant proposal that includes the following:
- Brief description of the intended project, including how the project seeks to further the mission of Humanity in Action;
- Estimated total cost of project, with expenses itemized;
- Potential or actual additional sources of funding;
Funding requests should be submitted via email to the ASFA Professional Development Committee Chairs, Kan Yan and Michelle Rosenthal— kanyanster@gmail.com and michelle.rosenthal@gmail.com. Requests should be submitted at least two weeks prior to the date of the project.
Funding requests will be evaluated in light of the statement of objectives outlined above, and in consideration of the amount of funds available and the aim of funding as many fellows' projects as possible. Funding requests will partly be evaluated on documentation of work in progress, a head shot of the Fellow for a news release, and a ready-to-publish story for our website and newsletter. The Committee will promptly review the funding request and respond to the applicant within two weeks.
