Our community takes action to defend democratic values around the world. Explore our Fellows' Action Projects here.
In the 11 months following the on-site Fellowship program, our Fellows work on their Action Project: an independent venture focused on promoting democratic values in their own communities. Action Projects are as diverse as Humanity in Action Fellows. Fellows apply their new knowledge and perspectives to the communities they impact—in whatever format they find meaningful. The Humanity in Action community is a great resource for getting support—be it with contacts, experience or good advice.

ARTIVISM - on the use of Art as a social transformation tool
Inspired by the collective actions of Youth Peace Ambassadors Network, Maciej Rotowski of the 2019 Warsaw Fellowship organized a 5 day-long training on artivism in Spain. Together with YPAN he brought together artists and activists and equipped them with necessary tools to advance peace and human rights.

The Invaluable Power of Women: The Heritage of Joan Ferrier
Tamara Hartman studied the archive of Joan Ferrier as part of her Action Project. This resulted in a hybrid event that was co-facilitated by Humanity in Action The Netherlands, and hosted by the Atria Institute on Gender Equality and Women's History.

365zaljudskaprava (365 for Human Rights)
Through product placement, the fellows aim to remind the public about their own Human Rights and how they tend to be broken and at stake every day, especially in the times affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Human Rights Reality
The project gathers 5 young people coming from all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina giving them a safe space to discuss various topics related to human rights and fundamental freedoms of citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina while being on camera.

The personal is political: Active Citizenship Workshop
Senior Fellow Eiko Oguchi aimed, with this project, to encourage high school students in Japan to become active citizens in their community through a 5-day online workshop.
