Our community takes action to defend democratic values around the world. Explore our Fellows' Action Projects here.
In the 11 months following the on-site Fellowship program, our Fellows work on their Action Project: an independent venture focused on promoting democratic values in their own communities. Action Projects are as diverse as Humanity in Action Fellows. Fellows apply their new knowledge and perspectives to the communities they impact—in whatever format they find meaningful. The Humanity in Action community is a great resource for getting support—be it with contacts, experience or good advice.

Diplomacy of Lights - 30 years of BiH's relations with democratic countries and organizations
This EDVACAY project aims to celebrate and raise awareness about the past 30 years of diplomatic and bilateral relations of BiH with various democratic countries and organizations.

Mirotraganje - In Pursuit of Peace
EDVACAY Fellows Almedina Mehić, Anastasija Ćorović, Jelena Dubravac, and Jelena Kerezović will create a scavenger hunt event with maps, puzzles and hints for young participants in two local communities, Banja Luka and Brčko, with the goal to provide the participants with knowledge, interesting historical facts and “signs of reconciliation” in their cities.

Kalendar uspjeha
This EDVACAY project aims to promote 12 “outstanding young people” from across BiH who are not necessarily famous and who have not yet made great achievements, but who are outstanding in their motivations and perseverance in their respective fields, and who have achieved extraordinary things despite the different kinds of “obstacles” they are facing within their lives.

Dani prijateljstva - Friendship Day
The goal of this EDVACAY campaign is to celebrate International Friendship Day by creating flash mob choreography and involving as many diverse groups of people to help them celebrate together.

As his Action Project, Jalen Belgrave organized an overnight program of workshops focused on strengthening advocacy, social justice, and leadership skills.

The Mystery of the Icky Water
Senior Fellow Alicia Terrero, together with Senior Fellow Ronak Gandhi, seek to discuss protection of the environment and local ecosystems with the youngest generation. To do so, they use the format of a mystery children’s book to discuss the role of corporations in water pollution & the destruction of local ecosystems.

Adversity Ever After: Raising Awareness about Childhood Adversity
Senior Fellow Michael Elisabeth Gasior has been seeking to create an accessible, open-access repository of information about childhood adversity and stories from people and communities affected.

Animate Youth Stories
Through workshops and creating digital animation, this action project provides a space for youth to explore their cultural and ethnic roots.
