Our community takes action to defend democratic values around the world. Explore our Fellows' Action Projects here.
In the 11 months following the on-site Fellowship program, our Fellows work on their Action Project: an independent venture focused on promoting democratic values in their own communities. Action Projects are as diverse as Humanity in Action Fellows. Fellows apply their new knowledge and perspectives to the communities they impact—in whatever format they find meaningful. The Humanity in Action community is a great resource for getting support—be it with contacts, experience or good advice. The Mystery of the Icky Water
Senior Fellow Alicia Terrero, together with Senior Fellow Ronak Gandhi, seek to discuss protection of the environment and local ecosystems with the youngest generation. To do so, they use the format of a mystery children’s book to discuss the role of corporations in water pollution & the destruction of local ecosystems.

Senior Fellow Michael Elisabeth Gasior has been seeking to create an accessible, open-access repository of information about childhood adversity and stories from people and communities affected.

For her Action Project, Diana Sosa created "FCPS NextGen," an alumni network that supports the educational and career success of first-generation and low-income students.

As her Action Project, Daikira Brown-Turner organized a conference titled ACTIVATE. The program aimed to activate one's voice and strengths to dismantle the status quo. "Out with the old, in with the new and equitable life we all deserve," Daikira subtitled it.
