Our community takes action to defend democratic values around the world. Explore our Fellows' Action Projects here.
In the 11 months following the on-site Fellowship program, our Fellows work on their Action Project: an independent venture focused on promoting democratic values in their own communities. Action Projects are as diverse as Humanity in Action Fellows. Fellows apply their new knowledge and perspectives to the communities they impact—in whatever format they find meaningful. The Humanity in Action community is a great resource for getting support—be it with contacts, experience or good advice. Bridging the Hispanic Achievement Gap created a class curriculum that combines Latino heritage, Spanish, English, and essay writing to help bridge the Hispanic Achievement Gap in high school.

with WINGS and ROOTS: The Miman Study Guide
with WINGS and ROOTS: The Miman Study Guide is a two part project, with discussion guides and video modules to accompany the 90-minute long documentary film regarding materials that convey complex issues in a comprehensible way and in filling a gap in the existing educational tools against Antiziganism.

University of Wisconsin Interfaith Network
As a response to the global terrorist attacks in November of 2015, Senior Fellow Kyra Fox organized an interfaith vigil together with several students of other faiths from the University of Wisconsin in Madison (UW-Madison).

Wish for WASH: Bringing Innovation to Sanitation
Senior Fellow Jasmine Burton founded Wish for WASH and led a pioneering public health design intervention in the Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya.

Senior Fellow Mia Ozegovic created aa tutoring and mentoring program that provides pathways to college for low-income students interested in pursuing higher learning.

Raising the Voices of Undocumented Youth
Senior Fellow Carlos Gonzalez helped coordinate a conference that brought together undocumented youth in Pennsylvania for a weekend of leadership, organizing and community building.
