Great Britain?

The project will bring podcast conversations on post-1950 Black British history, seeking to better understand the inherited Black legacies to provide insight into Blackness in modern Britain. Too often, Black British stories are forgotten or under acknowledged as the American civil rights movement is used to fill Black history, somehow acting as an allegory for Black British experiences despite their own real and powerful stories.

The project aims to redress this by exploring Black activism that challenged undemocratic systems across Britain. The project aims to capture Black stories, from successes to tragedies, to understand how these communities have profoundly affected Britain.
