In September 2022, Senior Fellow K. Melchor Quick Hall was awarded the Humanity in Action racial equity grant to commission works for the “Aiming for Freedom” traveling exhibition, which launched in February 2024 at the Avery Research Center in Charleston, SC.
After stops in Asheville, NC and Columbia, SC, this January “Aiming for Freedom” will have a special “abolition installation” at Wellesley College’s Jewett Art Gallery with art created with and inspired by prison abolitionist organizations.
“We have a series of events, and would like to extend a special invitation to the Humanity In Action community (in the Boston area),” Melchor shared.
