Senior Fellow Zachary Kaufman analyzes two new laws in the United States—the Elie Wiesel Genocide and Atrocities Prevention Act and the Syrian War Crimes Accountability Act—that he participated in writing while serving on the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations staff in 2016-17 as a Council on Foreign Relations International Affairs Fellow. My work on these laws drew from my latest book, United States Law and Policy on Transitional Justice (Oxford Academic (Oxford University Press)).
