Article

Applications for the 2020 Humanity in Action Fellowships are now open for applicants from the US and for US-based college and university students and recent graduates.

The Humanity in Action Fellowship brings together international groups of current college and university students and recent graduates to explore compelling, current issues of liberal democracy, pluralism, human rights and social justice within the specific historical and cultural contexts of each of the program sites. Intensive and demanding, the on-site programs are an educational space for transatlantic dialogue, reflection and informed action. The Action Projects that Fellows implement in the second phase of their Fellowship experience promote democratic values in their own communities.

Applicants from the US are eligible to apply for the following programs:

  • European Fellowship Programs (Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Sarajevo, and Warsaw): June 3 – July 1, 2020, followed by an Action Project implementation;
  • John Lewis Fellowship Program (Atlanta, Georgia): June 23 – July 21, 2020, followed an Action Project implementation.

The deadline to apply is January 5, 2020 at 11:59pm PST.

For applicants applying through Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Poland and Ukraine, applications will open near the end of 2019.
