Announcing the Democracy Fellows

Details

Article

Humanity in Action is pleased to recognize the group of Senior Fellows who have recently started their work to increase voter turnout for the elections to the European Parliament in May 2019. The Democracy Fellowship is an initiative of the Migration Policy Group (MPG, Brussels), spearheaded by its Research Director Thomas Huddleston (2005 Berlin Fellowship), in partnership with Humanity in Action.

The Democracy Fellows aim to increase the voter registration and turnout in the European elections among mobile EU citizens, naturalized migrants and refugees and young people of diverse backgrounds. With MPG’s assistance, Democracy Fellows will recruit volunteers from the target groups and conduct ‘train-the-trainers’ trainings so that these volunteers will then work with online and face-to-face trainings, social media actions, videos and multilingual media.

Do you want to get involved? Feel free to reach out to them by clicking on their names. You can support Democracy Fellows by:

  • Volunteering with the Democracy Fellows: activities range from translations, social media activities, events, videos, networking, focus groups;
  • Inviting a Fellow to present to first-time voters (whether at your organization, through your community or events you may know of);
  • Sign up to MPG’s Democracy mailing list or email the Fellows directly.
