On March 3, we organized a webinar on “Unforgettable history lessons. How to include applications in historical education?”. It was moderated by Agnieszka Jankowiak-Maik, an educator with a strong social media presence, known as @babkaodhisty. The webinar focused on the first educational and activist mobile application of its kind, 10 STAGES, created by Humanity in Action Polska.
The participants of the webinar were introduced to the application, went through all the stages, and found out how much educational content can be contained in such a seemingly small tool. Based on her teaching experience, Agnieszka Jankowiak-Maik presented several digital tools that can improve and make history (and not only!) lessons more attractive and make young people more attentive to the world around them.
After the “Unforgettable history lessons. How to include applications in historical education?” webinar teachers who were unsure whether the educational-activist mobile application 10 STAGES would be a useful tool in their work should rest assured that new technologies can be used to teach about “serious topics”.
As Agnieszka Jankowiak-Maik stressed,
“Thanks to this application, you will be able to better conduct your lessons. Not only students will benefit from it, but so will you. I don’t know any similar tool and when I got to know it a few months ago […] I was delighted because it seems to me that something like this is missing in education. I think you will be very pleased because it will give you a lot of inspiration for different lessons, not only of history.”
