Landecker Fellow Farah Abdi is collaborating on an upcoming event with Schwarzkopf Stiftung, a foundation that offers young Europeans opportunities for personal development and active participation in civil society.

On the 25th of November between 6-7PM CET, Farah, a Somali transgender refugee, will discuss the progress of the transgender movement. As the main speaker at the event, Farah will respond to some of the following questions:

  • How far have we come when it comes to trans rights?
  • Where are we in terms of rights for trans people?
  • What are some of the challenges that trans people continue to face?
  • What needs to be done moving forward?

You can register and learn more about the upcoming talk on this Schwarzkopf Stiftung page.

Farah is one of thirty 2021-2022 Landecker Democracy Fellows. This fellowship, a collaboration between the Alfred Landecker Foundation and Humanity in Action, was created to strengthen a new generation of leaders whose approaches to political and social challenges can become catalysts for democratic placemaking and community building.
