Article

Landecker Fellow Jeannette Gusko was recently mentioned in an article published by WELT, titled ‘Forget the Wahl-O-Maten, now there is the Woke-O-Mat’ (or ‘Vergesst den Wahl-O-Maten, jetzt gibt es den Woke-O-Mat’ in German). In it, writer Anna Schneider explores “Progresso Maschine” on a new online tool developed by Jeannette seeking to help voters test parties for gender equality and wokeness.

This online platform, developed by a broad alliance of civil society organizations, ensures users a voting aid for progressive politics and under-represented voters. At a time where much uncertainty reign over German voters, this app has become engrained in the country’s 2021 federal election.

For more information on “Wahl-O-Mat” as well as the “Woke-O-Mat”, you can find the full article on this WELT page (in German).

You can also try Wahl-O-Mat online or download it as a smartphone app via App Store or Google Store.

Jeannette is one of thirty Landecker Democracy Fellows. This fellowship, a collaboration between the Alfred Landecker Foundation and Humanity in Action, was created to strengthen a new generation of leaders whose approaches to political and social challenges can become catalysts for democratic placemaking and community building.
