Amidst the Russian invasion of Ukraine, many within the Humanity in Action community are organizing refugee support and aid supply, as well as offering housing to Ukrainian refugees.
“Everyone is welcome, we will find space for everyone seeking safety,” Zuzanna Krzatala, our Senior Fellow and staff member of HIA Poland, told BBC News. Seven members of a Ukrainian family have found refuge with Zuzanna, who opened up her home in Poland. Listen about their story in this BBC News coverage.
As over one million people have fled Ukraine into Poland, groups of grassroots activists, such as GRUPA ZASOBY, are organizing shelters for refugees and matching refugees with those who are offering their homes.
For those who wish to make a contribution to those in great need in Ukraine, the Humanity in Action Polish office has provided a list of Ukrainian charities.
