Five Landecker Senior Fellows recently stepped out of the Zoomverse and traveled everywhere from New York, Portland, Detroit and Paris to meet in Chicago for a much anticipated in-person gathering.
Over one weekend, Asha Iman Veal, Tara Dickman, Sharon Chin, Erica Dorn and Asha Shajahan bonded over their shared vision for better worlds through reinventing democracy. They also visited the RAISIN exhibition curated by Asha Iman.
Over the weekend, the five Senior Fellows discussed a whole range of issues: from social justice to love and life. In their own words, they are grateful to Humanity in Action and the Alfred Landecker Foundation for “bringing together [their] hearts and minds… in action.”
Asha Iman, Tara, Sharon, Erica and Asha are five of thirty 2020-2021 Landecker Democracy Fellows. This fellowship, a collaboration between the Alfred Landecker Foundation and Humanity in Action, was created to strengthen a new generation of leaders whose approaches to political and social challenges can become catalysts for democratic placemaking and community building.
