‘The Solidarity in Action project is important because it puts us in contact with allies, with people who can support us in our activities.’
Zbigniew Gajda, Hufce ZHP Krapkowice
‘I came to Krakow for the event organised by Humanity in Action Poland, “Solidarity in Action”, due to the fact that this is not my first experience with Humanity in Action and I know how valuable people are selected for this kind of conferences and networking meetings. My main goal was to meet as many people working in the third sector as possible to learn from them.’
Marina Akhmedova, Polish Migration Forum
The second live convention of our project ‘Solidarity in Action! Education, Activism, Cooperation’ took place in Krakow (09-11.05). We prepared a very varied programme of activities for activists and activists from all over Poland, both in the training room and in the field, during which they had the opportunity to get to know each other better, learn about each other’s activities and find points of contact for possible joint activities.
Highlights of the convention included:
Workshops entitled. ‘Leadership – or how to get people to support your actions’, which was prepared and conducted by Dr Karol Wilczynski, Humanity in Action Landecker Fellow.
‘Inspiring Krakow’ tour along the activist-solidarity trail led by Alicja Zioło, city guide and activist.
Visit to the Multicultural Centre in the Socio-Economic Innovation Cluster Zablocie 20.22.
A discussion on urban activism led by social activist Maciej Fijak, specialising in the topics of sustainable cities and engaged societies.
‘NGO Speed Dating’, through which participants and attendees of the project ‘Solidarity in Action! Education, Activism, Cooperation’ and our other project KICKSTARTER were able to get to know each other.
