Humanity in Action International Conference in Strasbourg

More than 250 Fellows, Senior Fellows, board members, supporters, and friends of the organization convened at the European Parliament in Strasbourg to explore the complex dynamics of European identity, collective memory and remembrance, as well as political, economic and cultural collaboration.

The International Conference took place from July 5 to 8, 2018 in Strasbourg, France. The Humanity in Action community convened to explore the state of the European Union as the largest global peace project in times of populism and rising social division across Europe and beyond.

The complex dynamics of European identity, collective memory and remembrance, as well as political, economic and cultural collaboration were discussed with leading European and international experts.

The European Union is one of the European states’ primary mechanisms for economic, political and cultural cooperation and the advancement of fundamental rights. The conferenced probed the history, sustainability and importance of many European institutions as well as their role in European integration. The conference also featured the annual Senior Fellow Reunion Dinner, skills training sessions, networking opportunities and thematic tours within Strasbourg.
