2022 Racial Equity Grants

Addressing racial equity and engagement in the United States.

In celebration of Juneteenth 2022, we are pleased to announce the third iteration of the Humanity in Action Racial Equity Grant. The focus of this ongoing and evolving grant is to support new projects and ongoing work that focus on impactful change in the United States. This 10-month grant recognizes the impactful work of our Fellows and Senior Fellows as they support racial equity and #BlackLivesMatter. In addition to the financial support, Humanity in Action staff provides mentoring to support the implementation of the grant winning projects.

Applications for the 2022 Racial Equity Grant are now closed. If you are a Fellow or Senior Fellow and wish to be notified when future grant opportunities open, please fill out this form.

Humanity in Action launched the Racial Equity Grant in the Summer of 2020 following the emergence of one of the most powerful social movements this country has seen in the last fifty years. This grant seeks to support the work of our community as we reckon with past and present racial injustices and bear witness to the power of dynamic civic action in the name of critical social change and transformative promise. The Racial Equity Grant is made possible through the generous support of the William H. Donner Foundation.

Applications for the 2022 Racial Equity Grants closed on July 31, 2022. For information on the grant application process for future years and to see previous grantees’ projects, please see below.
