Ann Vettikkal is a rising junior at Columbia University majoring in history and concentrating in East Asian studies. At Columbia, she is the Leads Editor of The Eye, a long-form journalism publication, for which she writes and edits investigative pieces about and around Columbia. She is also a DJ and “In All Languages” Department Head at WKCR, Columbia’s student run radio station, where she programs music mainly in non-English languages like Indian Classical music but has also programmed hip hop, soul, and jazz. Ann is the founder of the “I Can Write a Story” Program, a nonprofit organization based in her hometown Cincinnati, Ohio with the mission to empower underserved students to express their voices and publish their stories. She also plays the Saraswati veena, a South Indian Classical instrument, writes creatively, and plays soccer.
