Ashley is the Director of Philanthropic Engagement and Donor Relations at Humanity in Action. In her role she works with individual donors as well as Foundations to advance the HIA mission through philanthropy. With over 15 years of fundraising and development experience, Ashley has extensive management and strategic campaign planning experience. She earned her Bachelor’s degrees in International Studies and Spanish from Texas A&M University and her Masters of Public Administration degree from Sam Houston State University. As the first generation in her immediate family to attend college, Ashley felt instantly connected to better understanding human rights and politics while studying abroad in Spain during her college years. Working with local and international non-profits, as well as several institutions of higher education over the years, Ashley enjoys both the challenges and opportunities that arise in her field.
Prior to joining Humanity in Action, Ashley worked at the University of Florida Foundation for 12 years, most recently in the role of the Executive Director for University Initiatives. She oversaw the fundraising efforts for several large-scale capital campaign projects as well as a range of scholarship programs, totaling more than $200M in philanthropic support.
When not working on special fundraising projects, Ashley also owns a boutique floral design company, Garden and Grace Florals, which she enjoys as a creative outlet on the weekends. She and her husband, Douglas, have three children and one very rambunctious dog, Barkley.
