Cecilie Novel is currently pursuing a BA in China Studies at Copenhagen University with an emphasis on Minority Studies. In 2018, she spent six months studying the Chinese language in Beijing and teaching English as a volunteer to Chinese children. After her BA, she hopes to participate in a MA program in Venice called Human Rights and Democratization and later work for an NGO with a focus on supporting human rights in China. Presently, Cecilie’s focus is to encourage volunteering by the general population as a platform for people to learn from one another and thus minimize ‘othering’.
