Dorothy Mukasa is a visual artist, musician, collaborator and organizer. Originally from Everett, Washington, she attended Whitman College as a Rhetoric Studies major and Music minor. As a student, she facilitated annual music concerts, organized her own art exhibition, and completed her thesis on the graphic novel trilogy March. In her current role, she advises student groups such as the Whitman Events Board (WEB) and The Power & Privilege Symposium Executive Team as they plan events throughout the school year. One of Dorothy’s ongoing projects has been writing freedom songs inspired by the Civil Rights Movement and current events. In her free time, you can find her making music and collaborating with fellow creatives in her community. Ultimately, Dorothy hopes to help cultivate the next generation of artists and activists using their gifts to promote change.
