Ishika Muchhal


Ishika Muchhal is an Indian American actor, singer, dancer, writer, director, and activist from Los Angeles. A CalArts BFA Acting graduate with a social science minor, her films have been screened at festivals internationally. Ishika’s original art tackles issues including female feticide, dowry, acid attacks, girls’ education, immigration, and identity. Ishika is a California Arts Council Individual Artist Fellow grantee for her series A QISSAA with Ishika: Quintessential and Inspiring Stories of South Asian Artists. She served as CalArts Student Union President and has worked with the National Women’s Political Caucus, Rotary, and multiple political campaigns. Ishika raised $6,000 for LA’s unhoused population by producing a virtual fundraiser and over $35,000 for the American Cancer Society as team captain for 13 years. She strives to use art and advocacy to decolonize storytelling, create community, and bring reproductive justice to all. Ishika loves puns, political podcasts, Wordle, music, and traveling!
