Jasmine Rashid

Jasmine Rashid was born and raised on Long Island, New York, and is graduating from Swarthmore College this spring with a degree in Peace and Conflict Studies. At Swarthmore, Jasmine spent her time working as an associate for Arts, Media, and Culture at the Lang Center for Civic and Social Responsibility, freelance writing, and as the Editor-in-Chief of VISIBILITY Magazine — a publication dedicated to showcasing the creative work of traditionally marginalized voices. Jasmine recently finished her senior thesis, which explores the contours of human rights and multimedia strategy in bringing attention to the Rohingya crisis. In 2018, Jasmine became a Congressman John Lewis Fellow through the Humanity in Action network, where she engaged in issues around civil and human rights for the city of Atlanta. Jasmine currently works in the Candide Group where she hopes to help redefine the culture of money through impact investing, with the goal of a truly inclusive, people-first economy.

Jasmine is a 2020-2021 Racial Equity Grant Recipient. This 10-month grant recognizes the impactful work of Humanity in Action Fellows and Senior Fellows as they support racial equity and #BlackLivesMatter.
