Jess organizes around abortion rights in Texas as the Dallas Outreach and Organizing Manager at Avow. She emboldens Texans to harness their political power and demand that their representatives protect and expand access to safe, stigma-free abortion care. Because burnout is real in abortion advocacy in the South, Jess is working to unlearn internalized social mandates around immediacy and urgency, and instead, prioritize joy, community care, and sustainability in their work. Outside of abortion access, Jess’s passions include plants, YA fantasy, astrology (they’re a cancer), and everything queer.
