Julian Junk

Dr. Julian Junk is a Humanity in Action Senior Fellow and participated in the 2004 Berlin Fellowship program. He is currently head of the Leibniz Research Group „Radicalization“ at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) and is head of PRIF’s Berlin office. Before joining PRIF, he was a researcher at Goethe University Frankfurt and the University of Konstanz. He obtained his PhD and MA from Konstanz University. Julian is visiting lecturer at Lucerne University and at Free University Berlin; and he was visiting scholar at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). In research and teaching he focuses on radicalization and extremisms, transformations of political violence, management of international organizations, humanitarian interventions, peacekeeping and peacebuilding, and research methods.
