Julie H. Nielsen is a Danish, politically active, human rights and humanitarian law enthusiast. Furthermore, she is a roller derby player, amateur photographer and plant-based environmentalist. She is an educated cultural sociologist and currently enrolled in the Master’s program of International Security and Law at University of Southern Denmark, which she is finishing in the summer of 2021.
Julie has volunteered and worked with human rights in several different NGO’s and private projects, amongst which are the Danish Institute for Human Rights and Red Cross Copenhagen, and she is a former intern at the Danish embassy of Ukraine.
Currently, Julie is a steering group member of Ius Humanum, and working on spreading awareness of human rights issues in Denmark and beyond, via podcast, events and social media. Additionally, she is a Board member of the Copenhagen Roller Derby league and volunteering with Fountain House Copenhagen.
