Karlijn, also known as Koko, is the Program Manager of Humanity in Action the Netherlands. She holds two Bachelor’s degrees, in Business Administration and in Education. After her studies, she worked in the field of social entrepreneurship, education and humanitarian aid, managing complex projects in the refugee camps in Greece. Karlijn is currently finalizing a Master’s degree in Refugee Protection and Forced Migration Studies. Alongside her professional career, she has consistently volunteered at several non-profit organizations, such as Defence for Children Greece, TEDxWellington and most recently, the coordination of emergency aid for asylum seekers in The Netherlands for MiGreat. Outside of work, Karlijn loves sports (from playing semi-professional football to off-piste snowboarding), nature and exploring many creative outlets.
