Katarzyna Słubik

Katarzyna Słubik is the President of the Board at the Association for Legal Intervention in Warsaw. She oversees the development and the implementation of the Association’s strategy, coordinates national and international projects supporting migrants and refugees in Poland and acts as an advocacy officer. Previously, Katarzyna held various legal positions in civil society organizations in Poland, engaging in counselling, campaigning and advocacy. Katarzyna earned her master’s degree in Law from the University of Łódź. She uses her expertise in migration and asylum law to support various initiatives such as the European Commission’s expert pool for legal migration and the International Detention Coalition where she is active as a Regional Advisor. Katarzyna is an activist, a lawyer, and a researcher, which makes a pretty good mix for fighting for change. She is passionate about history and would like to write books for history buffs like herself when she retires.

“Democracy is not easy. It takes daily effort of many people to expand the democratic sphere just a little bit wider.”
