Laura Balle Svendsen

Laura Balle Svendsen is a Denmark-based development professional with a strong anchor and interest in civil society. Currently, Laura works to promote gender equality, equal access to health, climate adaption and resilience as well as strengthen grassroots civil society across the world. She works as an international programme manager on climate resilience projects in East Africa and volunteers for Doctors Without Borders to increase awareness about global humanitarian and development challenges in her hometown, Aarhus. Laura has previously lived in a number of counties incl. Sierra Leone, the United States, Kenya, and Bangladesh whilst working for civil society organisations such as DanChurchAid, Dreamtown and Amnesty International. She has a background in political science from the University of Copenhagen, specialising in international political economy, from where she graduated in 2022.
