Louisa Klaßen is a sociologist, educator, trainer, moderator, and coach for political education. She likes to laugh, uses hip hop as a method of learning and enjoys a good coffee. Currently, she is a Teach First Leadership Fellow and is working as a coach for marginalized pupils at a school in the outskirts of Berlin. Understanding and studying structural forms of discrimination have been at the heart of her academic and personal interest. She is specialized in critical education focusing on critical whiteness, sexuality, and gender and the power dynamics in teams thereof. She is especially interested in the intersection of race and gender and has volunteered for agisra e.V., a NGO fighting for human rights of female migrants and refugees on a local, national and international level. Due to the various work experiences in the field of education, Louisa is dedicating her future professional life to fighting inequalities in the German education system and is lobbying for marginalized youngsters in her political activism. Louisa is a Humanity in Action Senior Fellow and served as the Program Coordinator for the Berlin program in 2017.
