Born and raised in the United States of America, Neel Agarwal is currently pursuing a MA in International Economics & Economic Policy at Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. As the son of immigrants (his parents moved from India to the USA), he has always been culturally sandwiched between two worlds. It is this perspective, as an insider and an outsider, that guides his curiosity in seeking out contrasting ideas and viewpoints. He has traveled to over 30 European countries and a recent visit to Sarajevo sparked an interest in researching refugee labor market outcomes which is now the focus of his master’s thesis. After graduation, he plans to continue researching human rights issues and policy solutions at an international organization. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, singing and playing basketball.
