Niara E. Foster is a Chicago native and lover of community. She holds a degree in African American Studies from Emory University where she graduated with the Highest Honors for her work on the radical efforts of Black women granny midwives in healing, modern medicine, abortion, and activism. With her background in Black studies and experience in policy research, Niara is particularly interested in exploring the unique methods of resistance and care that marginalized people have created and their applications in public policy and medical education. Coupled with her experience in organizational leadership, Niara is also currently dedicated to increasing awareness around the potent power of storytelling in global social action.
