Raised in Egypt, Russia, Germany, and the U.S., Nikolas (Nik) Slackman is a rising senior at Bard College with a major in Written Arts. He spent two years studying theater at Temple University, directing and acting in productions of The Arsonists, Punk Rock, and Measure for Measure. He continues to pursue theater at Bard, performing in Three Sisters and doing lighting design for Spring Awakening. He is an editorial assistant for Conjunctions literary journal, where he copyedits experimental fiction and helps co-ordinate its social media presence. He is an avid fiction reader and writer, and has had pieces published in XRAY and DC’s. He is interested in the way narrative affects different cultures, from Albania to New Jersey, and explores this tension through his art. After Bard, Nik plans to pursue his Graduate degree in the Written Arts and pursue writing professionally.
