Oda has since 2014, been a committee member of the LGBT organisation in the Faroe Island. During this time, Oda and the group have advocated for LBGTQ+ rights in the Faroe Islands. After a long and hard battle for marriage equality in the Faroe Islands, the law finally came into effect on 1 July 2017. Since then, the group has been working on getting support for mental health programs, trans rights and LGBTQ+ rights in the workplace.
