Paulina Milewska is a media expert and a lawyer. Currently, she is writing her PhD thesis on the issue of media freedom and rule of law in Poland and Hungary at the European University Institute in Florence. Additionally, she serves as an advisor for European Centre for Press and Media Freedom and is the German Marshall Fund Fellow. Previously to that Paulina worked for Gazeta Wyborcza, the biggest daily quality newspaper in Poland, where she was the vice-chairperson of the board for Wysokie Obcasy Foundation and was involved in fundraising and advocacy efforts. She cooperated with the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw as the deputy director of American Center Warsaw, focusing on programs covering disinformation. Prior to that Paulina co-founded an award-winning social enterprise supporting migrants and refugees – Kuchnia Konfliktu. She is a Humanity in Action and Aspen Institute Senior Fellow. Paulina was also awarded the UNODA-OSCE Peace and Security scholarship.
