Prof.Dr.Rainer Forst has been Professor of Political Theory and Philosophy at Goethe University Frankfurt since 2004. He has been co-director of the Research Center “Normative Orders” since 2007 (2007 to 2019 Cluster of Excellence), the DFG Research Group “Justitia Amplificata” since 2009 and Director the DFG research group “Transnational Justice” since 2012. He has also been a research professor at the Berlin Science Center for Social Research since 2017. In 2012 Rainer Forst received the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize from the German Research Foundation. He is a member of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and a co-editor of the journal Ethics. Rainer Forst is a member of the Executive Editorial Committee of Political Theory and a member of numerous international journals in his research area. He is co-editor of the Theory and Society series as well as Normative Orders at Campus Verlag.
His three main publications are “Toleranz im Konflikt” (Suhrkamp 2003, Cambridge University Press 2013), “Das Recht auf Rechtfertigung” (Suhrkamp 2007, Columbia University Press 2012), and “Normativität und Macht” (Suhrkamp 2015, Oxford University Press 2017).
