Sharon Nathan is a doctoral candidate at the University of Cologne in the a.r.t.e.s. Graduate School for the Humanities, where his research examines refugee camps in post-war Germany through the lens of architectural history and its intersection with displacement. He also serves as a scientific researcher at the Foundation for Art and Architecture, contributing to the sustainable redevelopment of regions affected by open-cast coal mining in the Rhenish area. His work emphasizes community-driven and innovative approaches to urban transformation.

Sharon holds a master’s degree in Art History and German Studies from the University of Cologne. He gained international experience as a teaching associate at Williams College (MA, USA), participating in the Graduate Art program of the Art History department, and as a participant in the Diversifying German Studies program at the University of Arizona and UC Berkeley. His academic background is enriched by his collaboration with the Jewish MiQua-Museum in Cologne, where he curated an exhibition in Israel and developed the virtual exhibition “People, Pictures, Places – 1700 Years of Jewish Life in Germany.”
