Sophia Uriburu Wilder was born and raised in Washington, DC and is currently a candidate for an MSc in Social Policy and Public Health at Utrecht University. Prior to moving to the Netherlands, Sophia completed her bachelors degree at George Washington University where she double majored in Public Health and Spanish. Furthermore, she worked with various non-profits whose target populations were the immigrant and Latino communities in Washington DC and Montgomery County Maryland. She is currently completing an internship at an international NGO located in Haarlem whose mission is to serve and support the people of Afghanistan. In addition, she uses her free time to volunteer with a non-profit in Utrecht that provides services and activities for refugees. Her professional and academic experiences have motivated her to pursue a career in activism and public health.
