Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Sydney Eisenberg is currently is a rising senior at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She is majoring in Psychology, and minoring in Education for Empowerment and Writing. In Cleveland, she combined these passions as an intern at Facing History and Ourselves, and worked with teachers to integrate social justice concepts into their curricula. On campus, Sydney conducted psychology research on recent resettled Syrian refugees’ identity and belonging, and served as a co-chair for the Michigan Refugee Assistance Program. In her free time, Sydney loves to travel; she has spent the past two summers learning about sustainable international development and education in rural Thailand, Laos, and Tanzania, and has just returned from a semester abroad at the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
