Our community takes action to defend human rights around the world. Explore our Action Projects here.
As a part of our Fellowship programs, our Fellows work on an Action Project: an independent venture focused on promoting democratic values in their own communities. Action Projects are as diverse as Humanity in Action Fellows. Fellows apply their new knowledge and perspectives to the communities they impact—in whatever format they find meaningful. The Humanity in Action community is a great resource for getting support—be it with contacts, experience or good advice.

Short Film: 'Thin Ice'
‘Thin Ice’ is a short film about the growing fear of attacks in the Netherlands. The film addresses islamophobia and aims to discuss the implications and consequences of our fear of terrorist attacks.

Stories of Womanhood
Stories of Womanhood, an initiative by Senior Fellows Sharona Badloe and Sophia Blijden, aims to show the power of a personal story. After the first edition of Stories of Womanhood in Amsterdam, it evolved into a complete series that connects and empowers women in finding their own voice.

Definitely Family: Cross-border Families
Senior Fellow Merel de Herder started her Action Project in the summer of 2017. She and her father left the Netherlands for Tajikistan by car. Their goal was to meet families along the way to find out who they saw as an indispensable part of their family.
