Do you recognize everyday racism and discrimination?
Article 1 of the Dutch Constitution states that discrimination on the basis of religion, belief, political affiliation, race, gender, or on any other ground is not permitted. Unfortunately, discrimination and exclusion based on the aforementioned characteristics still happens far too often in Dutch society.
What if you are a victim yourself? Or see that someone else is a victim of racism, discrimination or exclusion? In this workshop, you will learn to recognize and acknowledge racism and discrimination and you will be given concrete tools to get into action and offer support to victims.
During the interactive workshop, participants will discuss in-depth different forms of everyday racism and discrimination, based on real cases reported to Meldpunt Discriminatie Regio Amsterdam. At the end of the workshop, each group will present their findings and demonstrate how to effectively respond to everyday racism using their case.
This workshop is a collaboration between Humanity in Action Netherlands and Meldpunt Discriminatie Regio Amsterdam and Bureau Tw!st as part of the Week against Racism organised by Pakhuis de Zwijger and partners.
There are only a limited number of spots available so don’t wait too long and register on time. This workshop is in Dutch!
