Fellow & Senior Fellow Retreat

Senior Fellows creating a space for reflections on politics, activism, research and community-building in nature close to Berlin.

Germany-based Humanity in Action Fellows and Senior Fellows spent April 20 to 22, 2018 acting, working, discussing and relaxing together at the beautiful Stechlin-Institut in the countryside close to Berlin.

Following on from the International Humanity in Action Conference in Berlin in 2017, Germany-based Fellows and Senior Fellows had a get-together in September 2017 to get to know each other as well as the newly joined 2017 Fellows. They decided to plan retreat in the countryside of Brandenburg to escape Berlin life for time together away in nature. The idea was to create a space for reflections on politics, activism, research and all kinds of other projects the community is working on.

The retreated was about sharing the Fellows’ and Senior Fellows’ passions, interests and energy with each other.

Surrounded by a lake, forests and fields, Germany-based Fellows and Senior Fellows came together for a weekend of fun and hiking, community-building, hanging out and talking politics.

A small team of Senior Fellows made it happen and Humanity in Action Germany contributed to covering the costs of the project. Thanks to Louisa Klaßen, Barbara Orth, Judith Scheer, Linnea Riensberg and Patrick Wielojewsi for your efforts in making this happen!
