Nabila on Women and Islam: Is the Koran a Feminist Text?

Details

Article

Senior Fellow Nabila Abdel Aziz wrote an article for BR24 in which she discusses the feminists interpretation of the Koran. “For a long time, Muslim feminists have insisted that the Koran is not a patriarchal text. However, critics have shaken this conviction in recent years,” she explains.

Through the article, Nabila explores the sects within the Feminists group who insist the Koran as a patriarchy text, and others who challenge this view. In fact, “Gender equality is an integral part of the Koranic message, even an ethical principle wanted by God,” Nabila explains her research into the topic.
