Asha Iman Veal in Newcity Chicago

The September edition of Newcity Chicago features “Art 50: Chicago’s Visual Vanguard, focusing on the gallerists, collectors, administrators and more shaping Chicago’s art world.” Senior Landecker Fellow Asha Iman Veal is among the wonderful artists featured in the magazine.

“It’s an honor to be included in the Art 50 for 2022 as part of the staff at The Museum of Contemporary Photography,” Asha said in this Instagram post, revealing a sneak-peak from the magazine.

Asha Iman is one of thirty 2020-2021 Landecker Democracy Fellows. This fellowship, a collaboration between the Alfred Landecker Foundation and Humanity in Action, was created to strengthen a new generation of leaders whose approaches to political and social challenges can become catalysts for democratic placemaking and community building.
