Asha Iman Veal to curate LATITUDE's 10th Anniversary Show

LATITUDE, a nonprofit community digital lab in Chicago, announced its upcoming 10th Anniversary Gala taking place on November 3, 2022. Senior Landecker Fellow Asha Iman Veal was announced as the curator of the show.

LATITUDE opened its doors on May 11th, 2012. “A lot has changed over the years and this year we are celebrating all of the amazing, talented artists who’ve worked at the lab,” their official announcement explains.

This year’s show will be hosted at the Chicago Art Department in Pilsen, and will include a print auction featuring the work of LATITUDE’s 2020 and 2022 Artists-in-Residence.

Asha Iman is one of thirty 2020-2021 Landecker Democracy Fellows. This fellowship, a collaboration between the Alfred Landecker Foundation and Humanity in Action, was created to strengthen a new generation of leaders whose approaches to political and social challenges can become catalysts for democratic placemaking and community building.
