After organizing an alumni tour with and for DialoguePerspectives, in collaboration with Humanity in Action, Sarajevo Fellow David Bakum shares his experience in a new blog titled Retrospect: Alumni Study Tour 2024. This event gathered 20 alumni to delve into Sarajevo’s intricate history of fostering interreligious and interethnic dialogue, taking place from August 29 to September 1, 2024.

Under the theme “Sarajevo between Past and Future – Exploring Historical and Contemporary Challenges of Interreligious Pluralism”, the tour featured contributions from journalist Melina Borčak and visual artist Esma Bošnjaković, who provided personal stories and artistic viewpoints that highlighted Sarajevo’s resilience and beauty despite its tumultuous past.

The tour included discussions at Sarajevo’s Europe House, featuring a keynote speech by Zarja Marković, Executive Director of Humanity in Action Bosnia and Herzegovina, regarding the ongoing struggle for war atrocities and included a panel with experts on human rights and post-conflict reconstruction in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
