Landecker Democracy Fellow Jeannette Gusko speaks about the “East” and “West” German division on the Stimmenfang Podcast on Der Spiegel. On this podcast, host Marisus Mestermann opens discussion on the continuous classification between “East” and “West” Germany within contemporary society.
Amongst other guests, Jeannette, native to East Berlin, speaks about the reinterpretation of this derogatory attribution in Germany as a “new self-confidence.” In the podcast, she discusses the particular strength that lies within the children of German reunification (also called Wendekinder), and continues with portraying her commitment to being the spokesperson of this “3rd Generation East” network.
