On 21 September, 2022, Landecker Fellow Jelle Zijlstra with Oy Vey and Stichting Nederland Wordt Beter co-organized a talk on Black and Jewish solidarity.
The event, at which Jelle also spoke, explored how the two communities can overcome their sometimes complicated past and trauma, and discussed how to become better allies.

Jelle is one of thirty 2021-2022 Landecker Democracy Fellows. This fellowship, a collaboration between the Alfred Landecker Foundation and Humanity in Action, was created to strengthen a new generation of leaders whose approaches to political and social challenges can become catalysts for democratic placemaking and community building.
