Landecker Fellow Reshma Persaud Organizes Translations and Workshops to support NYC local elections

To reflect the diverse communities of NYC and to encourage citizens to participate in the June 2021 local NYC elections, Landecker Fellow Reshma Persaud joined forces with the Bharati Foundation and SAKHI for South Asian Women in organizing RCV translations and presentations for many community partners in Tamil, Hindi, English, Urdu, Punjabi, and Bangla.

Special thanks to all of the volunteers and community partners that worked alongside Reshma, including local community volunteers based in Queens, The Atlantic Project in Washington DC, Powersonic Industries in Tamil Nadu, India, and Harvard University.

Reshma is one of thirty Landecker Democracy Fellows. This fellowship, a collaboration between the Alfred Landecker Foundation and Humanity in Action, was created to strengthen a new generation of leaders whose approaches to political and social challenges can become catalysts for democratic placemaking and community building.
